Men's Lacrosse Defeats Hartwick 14-10

Dennis Butler made 17 saves at Hartwick
ONEONTA, N.Y. – The Bombers defeated Hartwick 14-10 on Saturday. With the win, the Bombers improve to 8-3 overall, 5-0 in the Empire 8. Seventh-ranked RIT defeated fifth-ranked Nazareth 12-11 on Saturday, giving the Bombers sole possession of first place in the conference. RIT and Nazareth are tied for second. The Bombers can clinch the conference title and the top-spot in the championship tournament with wins over Elmira and Nazareth in their final two regular season games.
 
Sophomore Matt Nellligan (Pingree School/Rowley, Mass.) led the Bombers with six goals and freshmen Mike Cintineo (Honeoye Falls-Lima/Honeoye Falls) netted four. Senior Brandon Geluso (Haborfields/Greenlawn), junior Kyle Golden (Ossining/Briarcliff Manor) and freshmen  Mike Giunta (B. Reed Henderson/West Chester, Pa.) and Alec Siefert (Duxbury/Duxbury, Mass.) each had a goal. Sophomore Logan Bobzien (Arapahoe/Littleton, Colo.) led the Bombers with four assists.
 
Junior Dennis Butler (Pleasantville/Pleasantville) made 17 saves.
 
The teams were tied at two after the first period and Ithaca took a 4-3 lead at halftime. Cintineo and Golden scored all of their goals in the third period as the Bombers increased their lead to four. Both teams scored three goals in the fourth and Butler  made four saves in the period.
 
The Bombers travel to Elmira Wednesday at 4 p.m.
